The truth is that the populations of many species are decreasing at an unsustainable rate, and the number of species listed as endangered from marine life families such as whales, dolphins, manatees and dugongs, salmon, seabirds, sea turtles, and sharks to name a few, are on the rise.’ [quote taken from marinebio.org]
In recognition of the ever increasing strain on our world’s marine populations from the destructive efforts of global corporate and …

Award nomination

What a surprise to hear that we have been nominated for a ‘Green Wave Award’ by Surfer’s Path Magazine alongside some very big guns like Quiksilver, O’Neill and Patagonia.
Praise indeed. Thanks to everyone who voted for us. Not bad for the smallest company on the planet.

Davy Jones locker

I have just been reading that there is an incredible 265 million tones of man made rubbish and waste lying at the bottom of the Mediterranean.
Can you believe it? Who left it there and when are they coming back to pick it up?

An aluminum can 100 years.
The humble plastic bag 300 years.
But the daddy of them all is polystyrene and the plastic bottle which will take …

Getting into hot water

Across our planet, scientists, businesses, academics and even some politicians and sport enthusiasts are talking about the negative implications of warming temperatures on outdoor recreation and leisure.
The subject of global warming is a hot topic and is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
Climate change
The oil industry lobby try to tell everyone that it is nothing more than either normal environmental change or the ranting of eco warriors bent on destroying their business. The green lobby on the other hand tell us global warming will heat our planet on average by 6°C in the next century. It may not sound …

Reef encounters

Like many natural wonders that have caught the attention of global tourism, the sea-floor and in particular the coral reefs suffer from too much interest. As well meaning tourists and water-sports enthusiasts, we descend in our thousands if not millions on and into the world’s tropical and coastal waters. Unfortunately the damage we leave behind is becoming all too obvious. Marine life, and the sea on which we depend, surf and swim, is under threat from pollution, tourism, over-fishing and other damaging activities.
Corals and coral reefs are extremely sensitive, just walking on a reef can damage fragile coral that can …
